March 7th Women Build Committee Meeting 5:30 pm to 7: 30 pm South Freeport Church 98 South Freeport Rd South Freeport New members are welcome and encouraged to attend. We hope to see you there!
March 25th Ice Cream & Tea Social with the Princesses Time: 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm Location: Scarborough High School 11 Municipal Drive Join Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Cinderella, Pocahontas, Esmeralda, Tinker Bell and Snow White for a "make-your-own" ice cream sunday and tea party! Tickets are only $5.00 and will be available at the door! In our castle you will find princess wands available for a donation. We will have a glitter wishing station, craft table and many great photo opportunities! All ages are welcome and guests are encouraged to dress up, too!
Saturday, May 5th It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere 5k Time: 5:00 PM Location: Downtown Freeport; Location TBA Celebrate Cinco De Mayo, with a sunset 5k run/walk through Freeport followed by an award ceremony and celebration at Gritty's Brew Pub. And we hope you'll stay a while to enjoy a bon fire and great music from the band! All proceeds from the race will benefit the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland's Women Buildproject, located on South Street in Freeport! Click here for more information.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland is excited to announce our first Women Build project in 5 years! This project will provide the opportunity for women to address the affordable housing needs in our community by coming together as volunteers and donors to build a simple, decent and affordable home. Ask any woman who has participated in previous Women Build project and they will share that it was a wonderful, affirming event for them.
This year’s Women Build project will be one of three homes to be built on South St. in Freeport.

How you can be involved |
How You Can Be Involved:
- Join the Committee! We have developed an incredible committee of women who are working hard to raise the funds to complete the Women Build home and we can use more help! New committee members are always welcome. Committee meetings generally take place every other Wednesday evening at 5:30pm. Sub-committee meetings are scheduled as needed in the areas of PR & Marketing, Events, Corporate Relations and In-Kind Donations.

- Come Build With Us! Build dates for the Women Build project are now available. To schedule a build date for yourself and/or others, email womenbuild@habitatme.org.

What is the Women Build Program? |
Women Build brings together women from all walks of life to address the housing crisis facing millions of women and children worldwide. Women Build events have helped to construct more than 1,800 houses. Women Build is not about excluding men, it’s about including women so they can learn construction skills on a more inclusive construction site. Despite the advances that women have made over the past 20 years, construction is still one area in which women have yet to establish a real presence by way of numbers, or in recognition of skills. The Women Build is about providing a comfortable learning environment for women to discover they can build Habitat for Humanity homes.
