Volunteer Recognition Dinner

On Tuesday, March 31, 2009, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland, honored 27 individuals and 17 organizations, businesses and churches who have exemplified volunteerism in their commitment to help eliminate poverty housing.  A dinner and short presentation took place from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the USM Glickman Library to recognize the 2009 recipients of the Golden Hammer and Golden House Awards.  In keeping with the spirit of giving, the University of Southern Maine  graciously donated the space for the event.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland is proud to recognize this year’s honorees in appreciation for their hard work building homes for Habitat’s Partner Families.  “We appreciate each and every volunteer who gives their time to help, we could not do this without them,” says Stephen Bolton, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland."
